In addition to the as-built plan deliverable, the CEI must validate ITSFM documentation submitted by the contractor. This documentation includes GPS Mapping files, Feature Import Templates and Attribute forms. All deliverables must meet the functional requirements, delivered in the proper electronic format, and be ready for import into the ITS Facility Management (ITSFM) system without the need for post processing.
FDOT developed custom GPS Mapping tools that include a custom ITSFM configuration, data dictionary and export routines designed to synchronize the hand-held data collector units with the feature and attributes supported in the ITSFM database this allows easy exports to the ITS Facility Management (ITSFM) system.
Feature Import Templates are custom Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that include drop-down menus synchronized to the ITSFM database and designed for bulk importing asset information into the ITS Facility Management (ITSFM) system. The import templates are a great tool for transferring data from various data sources into a single source.
FDOT developed custom Attribute forms designed to synchronize information collected from the field with data supported in the ITSFM database. Various types of field equipment forms are available.
In addition, the CEI will be responsible for reviewing fiber optic splicing diagrams detailing all cable splices, terminations, equipment port assignments, and optical circuit path names within the communication network. Include cable manufacturer, type, strand count and cable sequential reading at each pull box entrance / exit, each side of the splice enclosure, and at patch panel terminations.
The CEI must validate ITSFM deliverables and recommend failure or acceptance of the data received from the contractor.
