O&M personnel are responsible for managing and maintaining the ITS Facility Management (ITSFM) system database. It is important that the System data is updated as changes and upgrades are made to the transportation system. Database updates must be performed on a timely basis to ensure accurate information about the installed facilities is available each time the system is accessed. The ITS Facility Management (ITSFM) system is populated with a large amount of data, so it is critical that the data is collected and entered into the System utilizing predetermined standards to provide maximum functionality.

It is equally important for the O&M personnel to utilize the ITSFM Standards for Standard Naming Conventions and Abbreviations to manage the data and provide data consistency across the State. Many of attribute fields include drop-down menus to ensure misspelled words will not adversely affect queries and searches.
