The Florida Legislature may designate a transportation facilitates based on recommendations from a city or county commission, individual state agency, or civic groups. Upon official designation by the Florida Legislature, it is the responsibility of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) legislative sponsors to obtain local resolutions from each affected city or county in accordance with  Section 334.071(3), F.S.
