The Florida Statutes (SS 316.0745) assigns the FDOT responsibility for adopting a uniform system of traffic control devices of all locations where the public travels. In Florida, signs intended to control traffic must comply with the national standards published by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) found in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Standard Highway Signs supplement.
Implement Florida’s Highway Signing Program for the safe movement of motor vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrian traffic while guiding practitioners and the general public about signs that regulate, warn, guide, and provide information about roadway services.
