The FDOT Five-Year Work Program

Work Program Adoption Process

Each summer, FDOT begins developing a Tentative Five-Year Work Program for adoption in July of the following year, subject to approval by the Florida Legislature and Governor. As part of the development process, each FDOT District coordinates with the local Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) in urbanized areas and county governments in rural areas. The FDOT Districts also invite public participation through the Work Program Public Hearing. The steps outlined below illustrate the process followed from development to adoption.
