Purpose: On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), you are cordially invited to the Final Public Meeting for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for State Road (SR) 5/US 1 at SR 838/Sunrise Boulevard (Financial Project Identification Number: 441955-1-22-02). The purpose of this project is to improve intersection capacity and address solutions for future traffic demand. The project will also improve safety and enhance modal interrelationships with bicycle, pedestrian, and transit modes. The project limits extend in the east-west direction along SR 5/US 1/Federal Highway and SR 838/Sunrise Boulevard between approximately NE 15th Avenue to the west and approximately Middle River Drive to the east with the study area extending slightly further to the east to NE 24th Avenue/Bayview Drive for approximately 1 mile in length.

The meeting will be offered in two formats: in-person and virtual.

The in-person Final Public Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at ArtServe, located at 1350 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. The purpose of this meeting is to present to the public the final study results.

Project representatives will be available to answer questions. Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within at least 300 feet on either side of the proposed alignment and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. Project information will also be posted on the project website at https://www.fdot.gov/projects/US1GatewayPDE.
