Welcome
On May 4, 2021, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), pursuant to 23 U.S.C. § 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and FDOT, granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance (LDCA) for the SR 9/I-95 at Lantana Road PD&E Study from north of Hypoluxo Road to south of 6th Avenue S in Palm Beach County, Florida.
The proposed improvements consist of reconfiguring the existing Tight Urban Diamond Interchange (TUDI) to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI), widening Lantana Road from four lanes to six lanes between High Ridge Road and Andrew Redding Road, replacing the single Lantana Road bridge over I-95 and the South Florida Rail Corridor (SFRC) with separate bridges, providing 7-foot buffered bicycle lanes and 6-foot sidewalks along Lantana Road, providing a directional median opening at the Lantana Road and Sunset Road intersection, providing an underpass service road to connect Sunset Road and the Solid Waste Authority (SWA) service road, signalization and lighting upgrades, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) improvements.
