Tim Lattner, P.E.
Director of Construction
Florida Department of Transportation

Tim Lattner serves as the Director, Office of Construction for the Florida Department of Transportation. His primary responsibility is to lead, guide and support the Florida construction community to deliver transportation projects on time and within budget of the FDOT’s Work Program. Previously, Tim served as the Director for the Office of Design as well as the Director for the Office of Maintenance. His career began in the Construction Engineering and Inspection area working in various roles from Inspector to Project Engineer on roadway and bridge projects. He has worked for both private industry and State Government during his 28 year career. He graduated from University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida.

Amy Miller, P.E.

Asphalt Contractors Association of Florida

Amy Miller serves as the president of the Asphalt Contractors Assoc. of Florida. Her background includes experience in materials, engineering, and construction. She’s a lifelong resident of Florida and a University of Florida graduate.

Dr. Vince Hafeli, President
Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC

Vince has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, currently serving as President of Ajax Paving Industries of Florida. Beginning in 1985 as a field engineering technician, he has held various roles with Geotechnical Engineering firms and the Florida Department of Transportation as a project and quality control manager. Before assuming his current leadership position, he served as the Vice President of Plants and Materials at Ajax. A passionate advocate for workplace safety and mental health, Vince earned his doctorate, focusing his research on suicide prevention in the construction industry. His commitment to fostering a culture of well-being in the workforce makes him a leading voice in industry safety initiatives.

Curtis Long
Chief Operating Officer
P&S Paving, Inc.

Curtis Long has 30 years of experience in the heavy highway/civil construction market and serves as Chief Operating Officer at P&S Paving, Inc. In this position, he is accountable for all day-to-day operations and the efficiency of the business. He is a licensed contractor in seven states and sits on the Boards of FTBA and ACAF. He is also the Chair of the FTBA Specifications Committee and serves on the ACAF Safety Committee.

Ryan Buck, P.E.
State Construction Specialty Engineer
Florida Department of Transportation

Ryan Buck is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. He graduated from Florida State University with an Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and received a Master’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Florida. He has work experience as a Project Manager in commercial building construction and site development. Ryan joined FDOT in 2020 and has served as a Project Management Engineer for the Office of Design and is currently the State Construction Specialty Engineer.

Brenda Young, P.E., CPM, FCCM
State Safety Engineer
Florida Department of Transportation

Brenda is FDOT’s State Safety Engineer responsible for the highway safety improvement program as well as the safety and health of FDOT staff statewide, enabling a “force multiplier” effect toward Florida’s target of zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries.

Matthew Carlock, P.E.
District Four Construction Engineer
Florida Department of Transportation

Matt is the FDOT District 4 Construction Engineer responsible for over $3 billion in active construction projects within Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties and has over 16 years of experience working for FDOT. He started his career as a FDOT PE Trainee after graduating with a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Central Florida and has spent the majority of his career in construction.
