What is a roundabout?
LA roundabout is a one-way, circular intersection that uses signs to guide motorists around them. The basic operating principle of the roundabout is that traffic travels counterclockwise around a central island in the middle of the intersection and entering traffic must yield to the circulating traffic already within the roundabout. The figure below identifies key components of a roundabout.
