Florida’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Coalition Quarterly Meeting TIME: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. This is the quarterly meeting of the members of Florida’s statewide multiagency coalition dedicated to eliminating bicyclist and pedestrian fatalities in Florida. Together this team works on our Pedestrian & Bicycle Strategic Safety Plan emphasis areas to form a comprehensive approach to safety and includes Highway and Traffic Engineering, Enforcement and Emergency Services, Data Collection and Analysis, Education and Communication, as well as Policy, Legislation, Driver Education and Licensing. All of these components are critical and work together to address safety. This is an invitation only event. Transit Coordinator Workshop TIME: 8:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. FDOT and LYNX are jointly offering this free training to transportation or lifestyle coordinators at senior living facilities. The goal of this workshop is to train coordinators on mobility options such as LYNX and SunRail. The information will include specific services and discounts applicable to seniors. Robinswood Middle School Bike/Pedestrian Safety Demonstration TIME: 3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m. Orange County Walk-Ride-Thrive! will be providing group demonstrations to students on how to check their bikes for safety, teaching hand signals and how to wear their helmet properly, and what to wear when riding. Information will also be provided on pedestrian safety, including information on traffic signs/devices, using crosswalks and how to be safe when walking to school.
