2026 Strategic Highway Safety Plan

FDOT is updating the state’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) to guide the state’s traffic safety partner actions and investments in roadway safety. We need your input on ideas, strategies, and innovations that will help us move toward our goal of eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways.
Florida’s 2026 Strategic Highway Safety Plan
The SHSP is a transportation safety plan for ALL of Florida with a vision of eliminating fatalities and serious injuries on Florida’s roadways. The 2026 SHSP will include strategies that reflect the Safe System Approach.
2026 SHSP Timeline
The 2026 SHSP will be adopted in March 2026. There will be multiple opportunities to provide valuable input to help shape the SHSP to ensure we are doing everything we can to get to ZERO.
