PD&E Study for State Road (SR) 714/Monterey Road at FEC Railroad Crossing, Martin County, Florida

About the Study:

This project proposes to improve the operations of SR 714/Monterey Road at the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC), a segment of approximately 0.035 miles. While the focus of the project will be to address the SR 714/Monterey Road at FEC railroad crossing, the project study area of influence extends beyond this location along SR 714/Monterey Road from SR 76/Kanner Hwy to SE Flying Fortress Lane. This area of influence includes five intersections that will be examined as part of this study. The intersections are: SR 76/Kanner Hwy, Willoughby Blvd, Monterey Ext Rd, US 1/Federal Hwy and CR A1A/Dixie Hwy. The project is located in Martin County near the City of Stuart.

Within the area of influence, SR 714/Monterey Road is functionally classified as an Urban Principal Arterial from SR 76/Kanner Hwy to US 1/Federal Hwy and an Urban Minor Arterial from US 1/Federal Hwy to SE Flying Fortress Lane. Additionally, SR 714/Monterey Road is an emergency evacuation route.
